Marla Fontana concentrates on all types of serious injury, medical malpractice, nursing home, and wrongful death litigation. As a Lake Bluff native, Marla attended Lake Forest High School. As a junior at LFHS, Marla took a “Law 101” class which was where her passion for the law and client advocacy began.

Marla joined Levin & Perconti as a law clerk in 2023 and was hired as an associate attorney in 2023 upon bar passage. Before joining the firm, Marla worked as a law clerk for two prominent Chicago personal injury law firms where she drafted legal documents that included complaints, mediation submissions, demand letters, and briefs. She frequently communicated with clients regarding their cases and also assisted in answering discovery. While working as both a law clerk and attorney at the firm, Marla has assisted with litigation against Northwestern University brought by dozens of former athletes who have alleged hazing within the school’s football program. Marla received her law degree from DePaul University’s College of Law where she was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient.

While in law school, Marla was a member of DePaul’s Moot Court Team and served as the Secretary of DePaul’s chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. In 2022, Marla received the CALI Award for Highest Grade in Legal Drafting – Civil Litigation. Marla received her bachelor’s degree in public relations with a concentration in sports and entertainment management and a minor in criminal justice from The University of Alabama.
