July 2024 Northwestern Hazing Lawsuit Update

In July of 2023, Northwestern released a report indicating that there had been an investigation into hazing on their football team. That report showed that hazing had been going on for many, many years and that the coaches on the football team had known or had significant opportunities to intervene and stop this conduct. Right after that, Levin & Perconti immediately filed several lawsuits on behalf of Northwestern players who had been victims of this hazing. Right now, those cases are getting trial dates in 2025 and 2026, and the cases have all been consolidated in the Circuit Court of Cook County. Currently, we’re working through gathering all of the information from Northwestern and from the coaches and building our case. Those cases will be undergoing, in the next several months and next year, intense discovery into the circumstances of who knew what at Northwestern and when they knew it.
