According to Jury Verdict Reporter, 101 law firms reported 663 settlements, which totaled $1.27 billion. The annual Settlements Report highlights settlements of $500,000 or more, totaling $1.16 billion over 393 different cases.
After years of decline (due in part to COVID-19), 2022 marked a five-year high for the annual Settlements Report.
Levin & Perconti was among 86 percent of law firms that reported at least one settlement of $1,000,000 or more.
Levin & Perconti Negotiates $6 Million Medical Malpractice Settlement
Levin & Perconti was recognized for 23 settlements in the annual report, including a $6 million medical malpractice settlement.
In that case, the emergency room failed to identify a spinal epidural abscess. The abscess progressed, leading to paraplegia, ultimately resulting in the patient’s death three years later.
