What Should You Bring When Meeting with L&P for the First Time?

Video Transcript

I’m envisioning a situation where an individual is deciding to meet with an attorney, and then that potential client might say to themselves, “What should I bring with me?” Really, nothing would be fine, but it can’t hurt to try to think through the events leading up to the tragedy that occurred that is causing you to see a lawyer. But the thing that helps us most is a good chronological account to the best that you can do, because sometimes things go wrong that shouldn’t have gone wrong, and our clients don’t even know how it happened. So what we try to do in what we’ll call the initial decision, whether to undertake a case, is get the basic facts from our client’s point of view. Then the next step is if we believe it would merit filing a lawsuit and representing someone, then mostly we do the record acquisition process, because the people that we sue typically do not give up their records easily.
